Keeping renters safe and in their homes
The DES Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) now offers rent and utility assistance to eligible Arizona renters impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible households may receive up to $3,500 per month in combined rent and utility assistance for a maximum of 18 months or a total of $63,000 in benefits paid. This 18-month total is the combined total of partial and full months of past-due, current, and future months. No further assistance can be paid after 18 months of benefits have been distributed. *DES opened its program to residents living within the City of Phoenix on February 12, 2022. Community Action Agencies:
The Division of Aging and Adult Services contracts directly with Community Action Agencies and the Arizona Community Action Association. Some of these agencies subcontract with other community agencies within their service area to provide additional services. Contact your local Community Action Agency to get help with:
LIHEAP Community Action Programs (CAPs) and other designated local providers offer several programs to assist with energy bills. The Department of Economic Security contracts with local providers for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). LIHEAP is a federally funded program that helps low-income households pay their heating and cooling bills, minimize crises and make energy costs more affordable. ************************************************************************** Community Action Programs (CAPs) and other designated local providers offer several programs to assist with energy assistance.
